Audience: TY and Senior Cycle Students

SETU Sustainable Energy Engineering lecturer, Colm Tynan will present this workshop where participants will learn about the power of the wind and how we can harness the wind for electricity. Working in small groups with model turbines, they will determine the efficiency of the turbines. They will learn how to measure windspeed with anemometers and also to use multimeters with Ohm’s Law to measure the electrical current generated.

The students will calculate the power of their wind turbine. Pencils and calculators needed.

When: 10 AM on Friday 6th March. Workshop will run for 1,5h. / BOOKED OUT
